Behind The Scenes: Botanicals

It’s Spring! And that means we’re all refreshing a few things. One of our main tasks at the start of this year has been a Botanic Garden photoshoot. With top trend forecasters such as WGSN announcing 2017’s colour of the year as ‘Fresh Green’ with a focus on real plants, paints, décor and patterns, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to create some amazing home inspo using our beautiful Portmeirion Botanic Garden collection.

Our journey to botanical bliss began in an incredible location house in Queens Park, London. This fabulous house is beautifully spacious and has contemporary feel whilst making the most of its stunning period features. The owners, a family of 4, have created an amazing home that’s both warm and stylish.

Surrounded by blossoming mood boards and an abundance of greenery, our in-house stylist created some fabulous ideas that enhanced the home’s most desirable features.

Textural leaves casually pegged onto hanging hessian strings looked amazing against this rustic brick wall. This idea is super easy to recreate at home to bring a bit of fresh green and life into your home (but it won’t last forever). Check out AFloral on Pinterest for all of the tools you need to create this DIY greenery in your home.

Portmeirion’s Botanic Garden collection fitted this quirky house perfectly. From breakfast in bed to tropical table settings, the striking photography from the shoot focused on creating beautiful settings for family dinners, dinner parties with friends, afternoon tea and even a cosy night in with your loved ones by the fire.

If you fancy a quick revamp of your kitchen or table by adding in some botanical details, try any of our Botanic Garden dinner plates, teacups & saucers or add a vase or jug to your mantelpiece. You can purchase any of the lovely pieces from this shoot on Portmeirion’s website.
