Just over 2 weeks to go until Christmas! And here’s our third look – the wonderfully classic The Holly & the Ivy. This will give your home a traditional, nostalgic festive feel and much like our other looks, creates a beautiful setting for those special Christmas moments around the table with your family.

This look is very simple to create and we can guarantee it will get every dinner guest in the Christmas spirit.

The Holly & the Ivy Look (Classically Traditional)
The key to this look is a plain white tablecloth that acts as a blank canvas for detailed festive tableware and traditional red, green and gold accessories.

Our Portmeirion The Holly & The Ivy collection is perfect for this look as it adds to the nostalgic feel. It’s botanical illustrations of holly and ivy and subtle lyrics from the classic Christmas carol really add a warming touch to your beautifully cooked Christmas lunch.



To create this Christmassy feel, you will need:
Garland
Pine Cones
Candy Canes
Hessian Ribbon
Candy Cane Striped String
Dried Clementines
Vintage Christmas Decorations (of your choice)
Red Napkins

Follow these simple steps:

1. Lay your garland down the centre of your table
2. Place the dried clementines, pine cones and candy canes amongst the branches of the garland. Use your creative eye to position your vintage decorations where all of your guests can admire.
3. After folding your red napkin, cut lengths of the hessian ribbon and string (roughly 15inches) for each napkin. Lay down the string first, then place the hessian ribbon on top (covering the string). Put your napkin in the centre of the ribbon and proceed to tie the ribbon and string around the napkin in a loose knot.
4. For a few finishing touches, embellish each place setting with a candy cane and add candles amongst the garland.
